Sit Up and DRIVE!

"Oh goodness gracious!" seems to be the theme of my life these days. EVERY moment has gone into warp speed, and I am also taking on a WHOLE NEW SET of priorities. As I maneuver this shift in focus, exercise has gotten pushed to a back burner, or maybe forgotten on the kitchen counter nearby. Oh I'm still doing it all, just not focusing on it. Maybe that's a good thing.

Here goes : Day 81 was my 3rd - 12 hour night shift. I walked my kiddos around the yard for fresh air. I DID DO my 150 sit ups and 100 knee/elbow crunches, and 12 push ups. I had ZERO motivation to leave for work, but my husband reminded me I was going to be off for 3 weeks after that ;-)

Day 82 I was suffering from sleep deprivation, but had to PACK, approve the kids clothes, PACK for Miss Moona, Dye my hair, clean up the house, pack misc stuff, do laundry etc. I also ran 4 miles knowing I'd been in the car for 20 some hours the next day and did my 150/100 while my dye was setting.

Day 83 we were on the road for more than 20 hours. That morning, while everybody rushed around, I kept thinking to myself "sit ups", then I'd remember something I needed to pack and get distracted. Finally my husband said it was time to go, and relented, allowing me my sit ups. In the NICK OF TIME I did my 150/100, and 10 push ups. Then we all piled into the Suburban and picked up my Hubby's brother "Chet" and began our journey.

Day 84, after 20 some hours of driving, I unfolded myself to get out at my brother-in-laws place. He was having a birthday party for his 3 year old. We got there about 6 or 7 am and stayed till around 5 pm. Then we drove 3 more hours to my In-Laws place. By the time we got there sit ups were the LAST THING on my mind and I FORGOT TO DO THEM!! Other than a 15 minute walk break earlier that day, I was DELINQUENT!! I didn't even realize it till I awakened the next morning with the horrible terrible realization........

Day 85, with the need to reprove myself, I decided to start doing 200 sit ups a day and did them along with 100 knee elbows and some planks. I asked about mile markers and somebody told me about a 2 mile corner. I ran, thinking it was REALLY HARD. Sure it was. Unbeknown to me I did FIVE MILES!! Something I haven't done since age 14!!

Day 86 was another record breaker. I still have my sit ups to do today. This am, lying in bed, my husband complimented me on how great my tummy was looking and he just wanted to stare at it. I was fine with that ;-) My SLAVE DRIVER daughter agreed to RUN 4 miles with me. SHE KEPT PUSHING us on further and further. I couldn't believe how far 4 miles seemed to be. After we got done I jumped into my in laws old pick up and clocked it. Turns out we did 5.8 miles!!! Selah.......

Sit Ups - The Saga Lives On

My Daughter with Holly Starr

Day 75 - Would you believe after making a post on the same day, after running 4 miles and getting everything done, I FELL ASLEEP!! I awakened in the middle of the night, okay more like early am and hurriedly did 50 sit ups. Then I passed out back into a coma........

Day 76 - I hiked the loop. I did 150 sit ups, 100 knee elbow crunches and 10 push ups.

Day 77 - I threw a surprise party for my daughter at the local pizza joint and then we attended the Holly Star concert. It was 5 star fabulous!! I did my 150/100 and 10 push ups (with my husband looking on) prior to leaving that morning. Then I ran out of time for any run..... It was a fun day.
Day 78 - We had church and then a surprise party for my husband!! Well it turned out to be not that big of a surprise since he already knew his friends were coming over. I made a big pile of Chinese food and then my girlfriends headed out with me on a quick hike. After that we watched a movie and ate Sock Fashion Experts fabulous angel food cake with strawberries, home made ice cream and real whipped cream - oh la la! I did my 150/100 and 10 p.u. tiredly when all the fun had ended....
Day 79 - It was our girls group day and I also had to work that night so there was no time for exercise. At quarter to 12 midnight, I rushed into the locker room at work and pulled off 50 sit ups.
Day 80 - I couldn't stand not having gotten any real exercise for the past few days. I got up after sleeping an hour or two and donned my running duds. My husband sent me back to bed telling me I needed more sleep (as I was on a stretch of 12 hr night shifts). Pouting I threw off my running duds and climbed back into bed. After another hour or so of sleep, I put them back on and GOT MY RUN IN! Oh it felt GOOD!! Then soaked in sweat, I did my 150/100 and 12 p.u..... Then it was time to get ready for work. I feel so much better!!!

catching up.....again

Its been incredibly hard to blog due to personal circumstances. I'm so sorry that i'm so delinquent. Time heals all wounds as will it heal this prodical bloggers absence..........

Day 68 Was INFURIATING! The roads were so bad we almost didn't make it to the dentist. Then because we were 15-20 minutes late, they refused to see my daughter and only my son. Here we were, almost stuck in the middle of wilderness due to horrible terrible slush conditions and the dentist couldn't cut any slack at all. To make matters worse, they wouldn't acknowledge whether they would see her or not, so she had to sit there for an hour waiting before she found out they wouldn't. I can't believe how rude that was. I did get a de-frustration 4 mile run in. I was so exhausted I fell asleep without doing my sit ups. Then I woke up around 11:30pm and hurriedly did 50 while my husband said "do you have to do that here now?" Day 69 and Day 70 are somewhat blurry in my mind. I'm pretty sure we were working on re-arranging the toy closet into the food pantry. I'm pretty sure I did my 150/100 each day along with a run and/or hike. I would remember not doing it :-) Day 71 We went to church and then hung out at friends. I went on a nice hike with Elasta Woman at her place. When I got home I faithfully did my 150/100. Day 72 Was one of the worst days of my life. I did get in a 4 mile run and 15o only. Day 73 We had to take Super Catman to the Orthodontist. I spent the day shopping and cooped up in the car. I did do my 150/100 and about 10 push ups. I'm so pathetic that I can't even touch my nose to the ground without falling down - lol ;-) I will be working on them. Day 74 I had a peaceful walk with my hubby. I did my 150/100 and 10 while he was gone at fire meeting. I have yet to do my workouts today. I guiltily report I have a cheese cake in the oven I am babysitting ;-)

Hell Passes

Fun in the Dressing Room!

This last month has been hell for me. I never imagined what I would be going through when I started this blog. Had I known, I don't know if I would have done it, but now that I'm here, I'm going to keep going. Though I have no control over many things, this one thing I do have control over - To trust God, He is faithful and He never changes. To obey His Word - that never changes either. And to keep doing my sit ups - lol.

I went through a hard time about 5 years ago. I didn't have any control over a lot of circumstances then either. Truth is, that's when I lost my first 35 lbs. I couldn't control many many things, but I could control what I put into my mouth and I could control my body to exercise. This gave me great comfort. I find myself there again lately........ No new plans for dieting. I'm going to fast from some things and pray again this next week and believe God.

Exercise wise : Day 58 I did my 100 sit ups and cross crunches but didn't get any other exercise as we had been gone at church and I started my 3 - 12 hr nights in a row. Day 59 I did my 100/100 in a hurry after pulling Miss Moona in the sled on a short ride. Day 60 I did a quick hike and my 100/100 again before work. Day 61 Was an awful day. I had to work my 3rd 12 hr night shift, then be to appointments in another city. I did get in a quick hike and I did do my 100/100. Day 62 I was gone to a big city all day. I got home at the stroke of midnight and was doing my 100/100 shortly thereafter. Day 63 I had a good day. My friends came over for our girls group. We all went for a walk together. Then I did another walk after they left. I did my 100/100. I haven't done any skiing or running this week. Its just been too busy. Hopefully this week I will have more time for good exercise. I NEED the endorphins ;-) Pray for me if you think of it.
